Driving Mrs. Satan – Did you Mrs. Me?

Folk / Indie

Driving Mrs. Satan’s new album “Did you Mrs. Me?
After releasing their debut album Popscotch in 2013, Driving Mrs. Satan, the band that renders „heavy metal“ in an acoustic format, have returned with a new album, Did you Mrs. Me? to be released in 2016 via Agualoca Records.
Recorded between Naples, Rome, London and Paris, produced by Giacomo Pedicini and engineered by Salvio Vassallo, Did you Mrs Me? arrives with a number of guests:
Singer-songwriter Gerald Toto and Crazy Horse dancer and singer Zula Zazou, who also collaborated with Nouvelle Vague, share lead vocal duties on the French version of Trust’s Antisocial.
Singer-songwriter Francesco Forni, whose friendship and musical kinship with Giacomo spans nearly two decades, performs Black Sabbath’s cult single Iron Man.

Speaking on the Album, Giacomo Pedicini, the founder of the band, writes „over the last couple of years I’ve been writing the arrangements for the next album to come while touring Europe. I tried to explore new directions, find a new sound. I was affected by the change of landscapes around me. The tour offered a view of the world, rich in multiple perspectives, so we went towards different instruments and colorations. Once we entered the studio, it was extremely easy to embroider the tunes with threads of violins, cello and viola and embellish them with dreamy horns. The songs are about time, experiences, the awareness that “it’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then”.
While still focused on the melody and lyrics of the original songs, Did you Mrs. Me?sounds very different from Popscotch: a darker texture, an enriched ensemble, fuller arrangements, and an inventive construction. Giacomo explains, “We allowed ourselves to imagine where it all could go. Over time the tracks developed into something intense yet accessible and authentic”.
It’s indeed time the recurring theme throughout this album, linking the characters in all songs.
From the man devoured by his relationship with the lost time that he can never catch up with in Trust’s Antisocial, to Iron Maiden’s devil who’s got time “always on his side” in Caught Somewhere in Time; from Black Sabbath’s Iron Man, who time travels into the future, to the time marching on for the soldiers – and the mankind – of Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls.

You can hear an exclusive private premiere of ‚Antisocial‘, ‚Iron Man‘ and ‚Peace Sells‘ via Soundcloud.
Following Popscotch, Driving Mrs. Satan toured Europe extensively. Now back home in Naples, they seem to have found the perfect balance with an extended band, which now includes guitarist Valerio Middione and drummer multi-instrumentalist Antonio Esposito.
Following the release of Did you Mrs. Me?, Driving Mrs. Satan will hit the road again for a run of shows in Germany, Italy and Spain.
